About me and my therapy practice

Therapy – The gift of Space ...

I have extensive experience of working with trauma, childhood sexual abuse, family, work and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, immigration/relocation, identity, disability, intellectual learning disabilities and loss, amongst other things. I work traditionally offering talking therapy but also believe that at times when words can be difficult, creative exercise can facilitate expression.

The greatest difficulty most of us face is finding the strength and resilience to be the best version of ourselves despite life struggles. My work is to facilitate growth towards authenticity, empower freedom of expression (feelings, thoughts, and emotions), and provide an empathetic, non-judgemental and confidential listening ear.

I am an Integrative Therapist; with my core training coming from the Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Existential schools of thought. If you choose to have sessions with me, I hope to provide you with space where you can be yourself, where you can talk about the things that have been bothering you. A space to share your thoughts, feeling, and emotions and expect to be heard with patience and empathy, somewhere where you can share your experiences, with your work, friendships, relationships, and family without feeling ashamed, judged, or as if you are hypersensitive.

Talk, share, reflect and grow ...

Practice description

I Provide an environment to gain mental space, explore thoughts, feelings, choices, and consequences. You deserve to feel better, having space to expose and explore your real self - the good, the bad, and the ugly. As you take this journey, I will be there supporting you and encouraging you to find freedom, so that you can start or continue to live the best life you can.

Taking the first step to talk to someone other than friends or family can be scary, but I encourage you to try it, what do you have to lose? feel free to call, text, or email me to set up a free 15-minute telephone consultation, where I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

My first session

Starting a journey of counselling can bring up different emotions; Some feel nervous, whereas others may feel relieved or excited. The first session provides a glimpse into counselling with me, allowing us both to decide whether we can work together.

The first session lasts 50 minutes ( a standard counselling hour). the time is roughly arranged with the first 10 minutes or so, going through how things work, the next 30 minutes or so, giving space for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling at this time and the last 10 minutes will be used to reflect on the session and whether going forward working with me would give you the support you need.

I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I am Sabrina. A Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor.

As a supervisor, my work is to support and empower you to get the most out of the counselling process for yourself and your clients. If we work together I hope to facilitate the deepening of your knowledge, practice, and critical thinking skills, as well as your process of reflection and self-awareness.

I hope to provide an open and safe space in which I  may challenge you, whilst encouraging you to also challenge me. This I believe will model the voice we hope to inspire our clients to have.

Supervision is also about supporting you to explore ethics and it's application to individual situations and ultimately maintain ethical standards.

I will assist you to maintain client focus, empathy and perspective. Support the exploration of any transferential and/or countertransferential relationships and aim to build your confidence in your ‘internal supervisor’, unlocking your full potential as a therapist.

Practice description

I offer Clinical Supervision from an integrative approach; with my core training coming from the Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Existential schools of thought. I also use Creative techniques, when words are not enough and encourage each therapist to feel free to build and explore their personal theoretical orientation.

I have experience with working across a wide range of issues including those around trauma, childhood sexual abuse, faith, the transpersonal, and those with an intercultural dimension to name a few.

I work with supervisees who see their clients within private practice or within an agency. I provide Supervision face-to-face in Stockwell or for organizations at their location, however, currently online video conference is the main option.

I have a particular passion for working with Counselling trainees and students and I am happy to support learning or discussions around theory, journal, essay, and exam.

I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation, for you to explore fit, logistics and ask any questions.
