About me and my therapy practice

ABOUT ME (She/Her)

After experiencing the transformative quality of psychotherapy through my own journey as a client, I came to clinical practice as a mature adult, with a 30-year professional management career already behind me. I am now a Master’s trained and experienced BACP Level 7 and UKCP accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. This transformation from client to qualified psychotherapist changed the focus of my personal and professional life and in the years since, I have worked with many clients from our diverse society. I strive to be an honest, reflective, open and curious practitioner and to provide a comfortable and confidential exploratory space.

Practice description

ONLINE

I work online using secure video calling platforms including Zoom. In line with the positive outcomes being observed in research, together with my clients, I appreciate and experience the clinical effectiveness of online therapy and its benefits in terms of convenience and accessibility for both my clients and myself as therapist. However, if you are in crisis and for example, struggling with feeling suicidal, then I would recommend working face-to-face with a suitably qualified therapist.

MY APPROACH

I am Integrative Psychotherapist trained and experienced in the use of techniques and strategies from different therapeutic methods. These methods include relational, person-centred, humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and trauma-informed therapies. This deeper and wider access to different methods, enables me to offer a flexible and holistic approach to treatment, which will be formulated specifically for your individual needs.

These needs may arise out of negative experiences in relationships, stress, abuse, depression, anxiety, a difficult childhood, workplace concerns and career issues, bereavement, trauma, pregnancy, ageing, low self-esteem, or a combination of factors.

As client you will be an active participant in this integrative approach and the strength of our working alliance will be core to our success. To facilitate your progress in meeting your therapeutic needs, together we will work to build a dynamic, non-judgemental, supportive relationship, within a professional relational framework of mutual confidentiality and trust. We will foster curiosity to explore the issues you bring and work on them together with honesty, reflection and sometimes humour!
