About me and my therapy practice

I am able to offer face to face, outdoor sessions or remote video and telephone sessions.

I am an Accredited and experienced therapist and clients would describe my approach as down to earth and practical. A previous manager described me as a ‘safe pair of hands’ and creating a safe place to help you consider whatever concerns you, is a priority for me.

Feeling safe, you can explore your personal difficulties and suffering, allowing you to gain a better understanding of those issues and establish a new outlook on how to deal with these.

I have previously worked for named organisations, including the NHS delivering e.g. specialist trauma therapy, therapy for anxiety and depression, working with chronic illness and cancer diagnosis. I have worked with both adults and children. I learnt to helped individuals cope day to day with the impact of their life struggles and begin to build the skills needed to cope and move on, developing life skills that helped them manage their mind and body.

Practice description

I work from my country home, sometimes using the setting therapeutically. My training draws on different theoretical approaches, but at the core I understand it is the relationship we have with ourselves and the world around us that is key. We are all unique and I work with the individual, using my collective knowledge to tailor an approach that best supports you to address your issues.

I am fully compliant with professional regulatory requirements and all my work is supervised in accordance with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Your first session with me will form part of an ongoing assessment of need and will include you telling me why you have decided to come to counselling, why now and what you are hoping to achieve by engaging in therapy. The first session will be at a concessionary rate.
