About me and my therapy practice

If you struggle with emotional eating, low body confidence, along with stress, overwhelm and anxiety, I may be able to help.

I’m Nikkita, a BACP registered therapist and I’ve spent the last decade helping women improve their self-esteem and confidence.

My clients range from professional women to stay at home mums, who despite putting themselves under a lot of pressure, never feel good enough. Their minds are often secretly preoccupied by everything they need to do and endless improvements they need to make - in their careers, appearance or relationships.

My more than 15 years as a personal trainer, along with my own personal experiences, have strengthened my understanding, compassion and empathy for women who feel immense pressure to be perfect.

This pressure often manifests into binge eating and drinking, ruminating about calories, being unhappy with their body and trying a bunch of diets, workout programmes or gym memberships to fix it.

The trouble is, with each new attempt and failure, their confidence and self-esteem gets chipped away and no matter how hard they try, they keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

This pattern has a knock on effect and can impact many, if not all areas of your life. It's frustrating, depressing and anxiety provoking - mostly it’s just exhausting and completely robs your life of joy.

Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way.

I provide specialist counselling and holistic therapy to women who want to change their relationship with food, improve their self-confidence and learn to take care of themselves in a way that adds to, rather than diminishes, the joy in their lives.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, meaning I’ve studied and use a range of different theories in my work.

The idea behind this is there is no one size fits all. You’re a unique person with your own unique life experience, thus incorporating different approaches means your therapy can be tailored specifically to you.

While I'm passionate about neuroscience and psychological theory, my approach isn’t clinical. I’m warm, compassionate and unshockable, so you can expect a judgement free experience. I will always aim to understand your experience from your perspective and work with you to find solutions that suit you and your life.

It is my absolute belief that everyone of us has a good reason for doing what we do. The goal is not to shame ourselves for developing coping strategies, but rather to give ourselves permission to evolve and try new ways of being.
