About me and my therapy practice

In the busy-ness of the modern world, psychotherapy offers the chance to bring about meaningful change in our lives. It is rare to have a confidential space – away from our lives, families, and work – to explore difficult feelings and experiences. Therapy gives permission for us to talk about whatever we need to. It can also allow reconnection to hope, humour and passion.

I offer therapy as a space to explore where you are at – what it is bringing you now and the change you are hoping for. I have experience of working with a diverse range of clients offering short- and long-term therapy

About me and my therapy practice

I have 25 years' experience as a teacher and facilitator working with issues of identity, power and discrimination with a focus on gender and sexual identities, children/young people and change. I work with professionals to identify and explore issues using theory and experiential exercises often supported by the arts, working from where people are. In my work, I use my experience a therapist, facilitator, youth worker and researcher to support therapists and other professionals to explore how a greater awareness of their identity (e.g. sexual and gender identities) will support them in their relationships with themselves and others, including client work. Organisations I have delivered work for include: Brent Council, City of London Corporation, Mayor of London, Croydon Drop In, Relate, GMFA and Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) and Charter Harley Street (alcohol & drug rehab). I also set up Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre in NW London and worked as an LGBT Adviser to two Mayors of London. I have designed and delivered teaching, training, workshops, presentations and conferences for: the Institute for Arts & Therapy in Education, Minster Centre, Pink Therapy, Aashna Counselling & Therapy Centre, Iron Mill College, UK Association for Transactional Analysis, Anglia Ruskin and Chester Universities, University of Arts London and Xenzone/Kooth Children and Young People's therapy service Here’s my talk at the 2016 Pink Therapy Conference (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQcAYpnSN2o) and my 2017 BACP University & College Journal article ‘Young People: Not Straight, Not Narrow’: (https://www.bacp.co.uk/bacp-journals/university-and-college-counselling/september-2017/young-people-not-straight-not-narrow). Do be in touch to explore how we could work together e.g. conference presentations, workshops, consultation, training, research or teaching opportunities.
