About me and my therapy practice

It can feel as though we, or our children, have to struggle on with our feelings controlling us at times, rather than being in control of them. This could be anger or anxiety, stress or grief. It can also be negative feelings directed at ourselves. The way it feels might start to affect a number of areas of our lives and it can be difficult to know where to start in feeling more like ourselves again. Although it can be difficult to acknowledge the need to find and seek help, it has taken strength and courage to get this far.

I offer counselling for adults, and children from the age of 11, to help understand these emotions and the root causes, helping you towards a better understanding of yourself and finding positive ways to deal with difficult feelings. It is important to find someone that you can see yourself talking to about things which might be challenging for you, knowing that you are safe, understood and listened to without judgement.

My approach is person-centred, recognising that you know yourself best and helping you to know yourself better. I will work with you to build your resilience and your sense of who you are, supporting you to find a way forward that is right for you, and helping you to feel more empowered and in control of the things in your life that you would like to change.

I am CPCAB Level 5 qualified to work with adults, and children and young people from the age of 11 and have experience of counselling with national and local charities. I use she/her pronouns.

I have over 20 years of teaching experience and working in a variety of roles in the education system
