About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, offering time-limited, or longer term, face to face counselling. I aim always to work collaboratively with you, focusing on your goals. I firmly believe that the talking therapies can help us to effect significant positive change in our lives.
Why counselling? Why now?
People choose to enter counselling for any number of reasons. Perhaps you have had a job loss, a bereavement, or a relationship breakdown. Perhaps it is simply that you are feeling sad, angry or dissatisfied with your life and you can’t pinpoint why this is.
What to expect….
I practice as an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw upon a variety of counselling techniques. This is dependent on each individual client, and what you would like to get out of your sessions. We will discuss this in our initial session, and regularly throughout our time together.
I believe that you know yourself best, and also what it is that you need and how best to get it (although I understand that it may not always feel that way). As such, I will not give you advice, but will aim to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
After our initial consultation, we will meet once a week for 50 minutes. I will also do my best to organise crisis sessions if they are required.
I work in a lovely therapy room in Shoreditch, just a few minutes' walk from Shoreditch High Street Station. Old Street Station is approximately 10-15 minutes' walk away.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I work in accordance with their code of ethics. For further information, please visit www.bacp.co.uk.
