About me and my therapy practice

Couple Therapy and Individual Therapy.

I work with couples on their relationships. I'm an experienced Couple and Individual psychotherapist. I have advanced qualifications and specialist training in couple psychotherapy.

Relationships are important, and couples begin with high hopes for the future. However relationships do face challenges which can affect a couple’s happiness and well-being.

Some of these challenges can be –

moving in together, commitment and marriage, communication problems, dealing with anger and conflict, lack of emotional intimacy, lack of quality time together, being together and being separate, balancing work and relationship, arrival of a baby, differences over child-rearing, long-distance relationships, trust issues, affairs, jealousy, differences in desire, unsatisfying sex life, illness, depression, children leaving home, facing retirement, growing older together.

All relationships go through testing times. And if communication breaks down couples can be left confused and stuck. Partners can often feel alone, lost, and sad, or angry and overwhelmed.

I specialise in working with couples. I help couples to understand what is troubling them. And I aim to help couples break through the painful issues and road-blocks that get in the way of happier, supportive and fulfilling relating.

With couple therapy, both the relationship and the two individuals can emerge strengthened by the experience.

I'm based in London. I work online, using Zoom. Trained and experienced in online therapy, I was online long before Covid. Online sessions provide flexibility and convenience wherever you live.

For Couple Therapy or Individual Therapy, you can message me from this page to ask about my availability for an initial consultation.

At your initial consultation I will give you friendly and helpful feedback on your relationship. I will also talk with you about how best to support you, or your relationship, going forward.

Practice description

Life can be tough sometimes. Perhaps you are dealing with a difficult situation in life that doesn’t seem to improve. You may be struggling with conflicting thoughts, or with some discomfort within yourself that keeps returning to unsettle you.

It can be complicated to try to fix our own stuff – which means that a problem can continue to trouble you. You don’t have to suffer in silence.

When things reach a point where you no longer want to deal with it all by yourself – it can be helpful to talk to someone who is separate from the problem and from all areas of your life. Someone who will really listen to you.

I aim to help you see the big picture around what is troubling you, so that you can discover new perspectives and ways forward. You don’t have to remain limited by what has happened. You can find a greater comfort in yourself, and a deeper connection to your potential, to who you are.

With work you can become able to improve many aspects of your life, including your relationships with people who are important to you. Working with a professional can be helpful in gaining control over your situation, and bringing about much-wanted change.

The results you get from therapy will depend on your particular situation, and on and how you apply yourself. The therapy is always tailored to your specific needs.

Qualifications and Training

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of London.

I am trained to work with both individuals and couples. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, from Tavistock Relationships and the University of East London.

I have a specialist training in working with couples. I hold a MA (Distinction) in Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, from Tavistock Relationships and the University of East London.

My first session

You can message me from this page to check my availability for an initial consultation.

At your consultation you can tell me a little about your history, help me understand what has brought you to therapy, and what you would like to work on.

Then we will think together about what would best meet your particular needs.

We will also talk about whether working together in therapy might be helpful to you. This is an important decision and it has to feel right, so there is no obligation on us to continue.

If appropriate we will either schedule a further consultation session or arrange a time for regular therapy.
