About me and my therapy practice

My practice if for anyone who wishes to make a change in their life.

Life will at some point present us with crossroads where we may need to make decisions or review our attitude, understanding, perspective. This is not easy to do and having the support of a therapist to be alongside when going through a difficult period can be reassuring.

I have built my practice to facilitate change. Change from unhealthy habits, change from compulsion, change from unhappy living, change from the mundane, change from being somehow stuck. Change can also mean acceptance of what is, re-evaluation of what is true for us and building a future with a new view.

My view on therapy is that you as my client hold the answers, you are the expert on your own experience, and you will lead on the path you wish to take. I am an accompanying professional whom you consult with, with whom you can think together and explore emotions and experiences safely.

Practice description

I am post graduate diploma trained therapist and am currently writing my Master’s thesis in Addiction Psychology & Counselling.

My therapeutic training has provided me with insight in the workings of NHS IAPT contracts, international private healthcare and community projects. These include provision of support/ psychological services to the homeless, maginalised groups, victims of domestic abuse and addiction.

I draw on theories from metacognitive, cognitive behavioural therapies as well as humanistic approaches. I believe that each therapy is personalised to the individual and its course should be a collaboration between the therapist and client.

My continuous professional development has led me to seek out evidence-based and trauma informed teachings and to keep informed I am currently training as a Compassionate Inquiry practitioner as part of Dr. Gabor Maté’s international teaching program.

My first session

The very first contact will be an introductory phone call free of charge where you can find out about my practice and ask questions and where we can decide how to work together.

The first session in my clinic will involve more personal details about you, your life & your health, those who are around you and to understand more closely what has brought you to contacting me.
