About me and my therapy practice
Things not working out how you want them to? Struggling to make sense of it all? Difficult situations getting you down or causing anxiety? Sometimes in life we experience unforeseen events or changes that can upset us and affect our mood and confidence, and lead to anxiety or depression. Experiences of loss, relationship issues, changes of circumstance or changes in ourselves or those we are close to, can all affect us in ways that upset our sense of balance and purpose. This can propel us into difficult experiences and emotions, raising questions about our lives and what it's all about.
If you are experiencing difficult life situations like these, I offer a safe and reflective space to explore what is going on in a soulful and compassionate way. Through honouring the different aspects of your experience, past and present, and uncovering what stirs and moves you in life, a deeper understanding can arise, bringing a clearer sense of how to move forward.
I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor offering short and long-term counselling to adults, older adults, and young people over sixteen. I have a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision, a highly regarded training centre in London, which draws on and integrates a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches aimed at fostering a 'soulful' perspective where depth and meaning are honoured and can arise.
Like many people, I have had difficult experiences in my life, which have been hard to understand and move on from. Having therapy myself helped me come to terms with these experiences, and find meaningful perspectives that helped me to change how I relate to them. I now value and draw on these experiences and what they have taught me, as I walk alongside others trying to make sense of their lives. I am very aware of how helpful, challenging, and rewarding the therapeutic journey can be, and how much courage it takes to take the first steps and find a therapist or counsellor.
If you choose to work with me, I hope you will find me to be caring, down-to-earth and non-judgemental. I bring to my counselling practice a genuine curiosity and care for people and their issues, and a desire to help you come to know, accept and appreciate yourself and your life experiences more fully.
