About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Amanda, an experienced and qualified psychotherapist.
Perhaps you are feeling low, suffer with constant anxiety, have ‘imposter syndrome’ or performance anxiety, struggle with poor self-image or negative thoughts. Or maybe there are issues at work, with a significant other or with family that brings you here but whatever it its, my aim is to help you to find strategies to manage your situation and the accompanying anxiety, feelings and thoughts but also to work with you on the underlying issues that are key to effecting long-lasting change.
Therapy provides you with the opportunity to talk through whatever it is that troubles you, with an impartial professional. Getting through difficult times and dealing with the accompanying feelings can be incredibly challenging and it is at these times that working with an empathic, non-judgemental therapist in a space where you can be supported – and where necessary, challenged – to really look at and to move beyond the limiting patterns and beliefs that may be defining where you are right now can be life changing.
Specialisms – Eating Disorders
I work with a wide range of issues and also have specialist training and considerable experience working with issues around food and eating – bingeing, purging, anorexia and other eating-related disorders. For more information about the this, please see my website https://breakthebingecycle.co.uk.
Training and qualifications
I hold both a Masters in Integrative Therapy and a Diploma in Art Therapy. As such, my approach is informed by a diverse range of therapeutic styles ranging from cognitive behavioural therapy to psychodynamic therapy and I also employ the use of the arts and/or creative imagination in order to identify, explore and resolve the issues that may be getting in the way of having a more rewarding life.
