About me and my therapy practice
My aim as a Counsellor is to offer a warm, non-judgemental approach to help you with any difficult issues that you may currently be experiencing, and to help you gain clarity. I can also support you to explore past relationships or life experiences which may be affecting how you are feeling in the here and now. I am able to offer you support with many issues, e.g. low mood and depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, relationship issues, grief and others.
I am an 'integrative' therapist, which means that I combine more than one theoretical approach. This enables me to be flexible and responsive in meeting my clients’ needs, as I don't believe that any one approach will suit everyone. Fundamentally however I am client-centred and collaborative in the way I work, offering you warmth, empathy and a genuinely supportive relationship.
I currently offer appointments in my private practice on Thursdays in Ilkley, LS29, and also work as a Student Counsellor in Higher Education. I worked for many years with Cruse Bereavement Care and therefore have a special interest in working with grief and loss. I have also worked with adults and young people in a staff and student counselling service at a local FE College .
I am experienced in offering both short-term and longer-term therapy. Please contact me to explore how I can help.
