About me and my therapy practice

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed. You may have lost your sense of self, or purpose in life. Perhaps you’re ready to heal the deep emotional wounds you carry. Counselling can help. I am an experienced Person-Centred counsellor offering a calm, nurturing space, where you can gently explore what is at the root of your distress, paving the way towards clarity and peace. I will be beside you, ensuring care and safety as you face your troubles.

I have 16 years experience supporting adults and young people with their mental health, across the voluntary, public and private sectors. My counselling roles have included working in a bereavement service, men's health project, and carer's centre, as well as counselling young people and adults in college settings.

Whether it's about working through painful times such as loss, anxiety or despair, creating more harmonious relationships or discovering ways to enrich your life, whatever you bring can be worked with.

Practice description

Confidentiality and non-judgement underpin my practice. With empathy, I will strive to truly understand what life is like for you. I take care to build a genuine, trusting relationship based on respect; you are accepted as you are.

At your pace, and in the direction that feels right for you, we will uncover your true feelings and needs. From here, solutions to problems can emerge, creating space for healing and growth.

I am trauma informed, with my focus on safety and grounding, as we begin to loosen the grip of past trauma. I will support you as you process your experiences, and begin to find inner ease and stability on your journey towards recovery.

If it feels right for you; when words are not enough, I use Person-Centred Expressive Arts Therapy. This creative process is a powerful means of self-expression and discovery, offering the potential for change and deep healing. If this is something you would like, we can discuss it in more detail.

I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling. My practice is based in Lymm, in peaceful and private surroundings, with free parking available.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

My first session

I offer an introductory session of up to 30 minutes; this is either a FREE phone call, or £15 face to face.

I understand first times can feel daunting. I will provide a warm and welcoming space, ensuring that you are comfortable and relaxed.

Our first session is where we get a feel for how we will work together. I will find out more about what is bringing you to therapy and what you would like to get out of the sessions. I will give you an idea of how I work, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. Together we can decide if this is the right therapy for you. You can book in for full session, or take time to decide.  Whichever feels right. It is important that you feel comfortable working with me.

I look forward to hearing from you.
