About me and my therapy practice

I am now providing sessions via Skype/Zoom or over the telephone so please enquire if you would like to start sessions this way.

We can all experience difficult times in our lives. It is at these times that life can feel difficult to manage and can leave us feeling alone and often afraid, feeling that we need some support and understanding from a professional.

My practice is to work alongside people in order to help them gain some insight and understanding about their difficulties as well as feel supported and heard. Depression, anxiety, loss and separation are some of the more difficult issues we come up against in life.

I offer a quiet, confidential and non-judgemental space to think together in order to support and help you in thinking about yourself in relation to others and the outside world and the difficulties that might arise from this.

My original training was in Integrative Counselling. I have since studied for a  Masters in Psychological Therapies (Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy) at the University of Exeter.  I currently work as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist in the NHS along with my own private practice in Exeter and Taunton.  I am also training at Severnside Institute of Psychotherapy in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

My practice is to have a consultation period which would normally be two hour and a quarter sessions in consecutive weeks to think about what you may want or need in terms of therapy. The aim would be to continue on a weekly basis unless I think you may need a different therapy more suitable to your needs in which case I would help to make a referral where possible.
