About me and my therapy practice
I hope the following information about me helps you in making an informed decision.
I am an honest and ethical counsellor who is registered with the BACP.
I offer and facilitate an empathic, non-judgmental environment and an open flexible approach to meet your goal/explore your difficulties using person centered counselling and my cognitive behavioural approach training depending on what you feel is relevant to you.
This can help you to explore your feelings and thoughts openly and honestly, so that you can understand your situation and make decisions that are pertinent for you.
I have wide variety experience of working with difficulties/issues some of which are:

• Historical sexual abuse
• Self Esteem
• Loss- in its many forms such as: bereavement, job loss, physical health changes, adjustment.
BSc Hons Psychology.
PG Cert Low Intensity Cognitive Behavior Approaches.
Level 3 and 4 Diplomas in Person Centered Counselling.

I currently work in the NHS as a counsellor.
I have worked for R.O.S.A (Rape or Sexual Assault) charity for two years.
Previously worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in the NHS for 3 years.
I have also worked in a community environment for charities.
I believe Emotional Health Matters and our responses to our experiences are individual and unique.
Counselling is about change and this can help provide a space for you to explore how you feel openly about your difficulties, and how this then changes for you through our sessions.
My role is to be respectful and mindful of your goal focus, ensuring that I work alongside you as we explore your feelings in our sessions together.
I work one to one face to face /telephone/online (video via zoom) from a home environment where there are parking facilities.
Due to COVID-19 update as of 05/07/2021 I am able to offer face to face appointments from 19/07/2021. I only request that you wear your face mask until seated and upon leaving. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
I offer Private Practice sessions on a Monday day/evening and a Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6-7pm.
Long term or short-term work.
I have regular supervision to ensure best practice and that I continue to work ethically, and I am fully insured.
We can have an initial free informal 30-minute chat for us to get an idea if we can work together and from there, we can discuss appointments.
My first session
After our initial 30 minute chat we will confirm how you would like the session eg telephone/zoom/face to face and a time for our appointments moving forward. I will e-mail all contracting information to you in advance of our first session for you to return completed via e-mail.
Online and telephone payments are to be made in advance - which can be discussed in our initial conversation/first session if needed.
We can discuss any questions you have regarding our contract agreement and payments.
It important you feel fully informed of your rights and what to expect from me as your counsellor and expectations of sessions moving forward.
Our first session is where you feel you want to begin- its your session and from there we can look at appointments moving forward and what that looks like for you.
We will review regularly to ensure sessions are helpful, usually at session 4 and again at session 8 and so on. There are no limits to sessions, however you can choose to stop at any point.
Each session is 60 minutes and usually weekly or fortnightly.
