About me and my therapy practice

I offer a friendly and professional environment, working from my home address with easy parking.  I will always try to fit an initial session in within 7 days, working different days and times if needed to accommodate, I appreciate that often when you have made the decision to talk to someone waiting for that initial appointment can be very difficult.

I believe a good relationship between client and therapist is vital in helping to achieve goals and work through issues and concerns that a client may have.

In addition to the prices quoted I am happy to consider concessionary rates or a 30 minute trial session at a reduced cost.

We work at a pace that is suitable for both parties and I encourage self work between sessions to try to make the face to face session times as affective as possible.

I appreciate that taking the first step to contact a counsellor can be a challenging one and I am happy to receive queries via text, email or phone calls whichever approach works best.

I try to provide my clients with tools that enable them to help themselves so sessions with me can be limited, it is fine to have a one off session or multiple weekly sessions.

Practice description

I am currently running many of my sessions via several different videoconferencing options or telephone calls.

From middle/ end of September 2020 (COVID guidance permitting) I will be welcoming clients back into my private practice.  We will talk through the safety requirements and restrictions prior to the session.  This will change with accordingly with guidance, sometimes without much notice.

I also offer 'walk and talk' sessions for clients who do not wish to use technology.  This is typically after an initial telephone session.  I take my own and client safely very seriously, whilst maintaining confidentiality,  We discuss the location and route we will use.

My first session

I allow for a slightly longer session for the initial session and ensure there is a larger gap between you and the next client.

A session will typically be 50/55 minutes in length but can vary from 40 minutes to 65 minutes, this variance is due to the interaction that the client feels is beneficial for the first session.

Subsequent sessions are fixed in length.
