About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified BACP registered Person-Centred counsellor offering face to face sessions in Hove and online.

Maybe you are at a time in your life which is challenging, and you need someone to talk to? My work is ‘Person-Centred’, which is non-directive (I won't tell you what to do/offer advice) and is non-medical.

I am committed to offering a confidential, inclusive and welcoming space. You can explore your thoughts & feelings at your own pace. I will offer you empathy, acceptance, warmth, and a non-judgmental relationship. Specialising in trans &/or non-binary, LGBTQIA+, disability and domestic abuse. Sliding scale sessions are available.

Contacting a stranger for counselling can be a daunting experience. Maybe you have been to counselling before, or this is a new experience. We will talk on the telephone for our first 30 minute session (or less if you choose), so you can get a feel if we are the right ‘fit' together. This session is free, & you can ask me any questions you may have. Availability daytime, evenings and weekend mornings.

My first session

What will happen in our first free 30 minute session?

I will invite you to a zoom session for a prearranged time that works for us both.

I will be in a confidential space, and request that you do also.

I will explain to you that what you tell me is confidential.

You will have the space tell me what has brought you to counselling, and to ask me any questions about myself, or about our work together.

You will have an opportunity to tell me how you would like us to work together.

I will offer you empathy, unconditional acceptance, warmth, and a genuine non-judgmental relationship.

After our first session, you will hopefully have a sense of who I am as your therapist and if we are good ‘fit’ together.

I will not pressure you to commit to further sessions, and you can feel free to leave the session to think about if you would like to continue our work together.
