During the COVID-19 restrictions on movement, I'm offering sessions online in order to continue to support those I'm working with.
I'm available to take on new patients online during this time but some restrictions will apply to the type of work undertaken. Confidentiality and safety are paramount.
I will return to working from my consulting rooms as soon as is safe and practical to do so.
About me and my therapy practice
I work with adult individuals for short or long term open-ended psychotherapy with one or two sessions per week, either online or from my consulting room in Marylebone W1. I have a particular interest in how early trauma can shape us and continue to impact us as adults, affecting our ability to manage our relationships, our work life, and the difficulties of everyday living. For more information visit my website www.bakerpsychotherapy.com.
My practice has grown organically over several years to a stage now where it's satisfying to manage.
My first session
The initial session whether online or in-person is sometimes longer than the usual fifty minutes session. It's an opportunity for you to give me more detail about what is troubling you and what you hope to gain from therapy.
It also enables us to evaluate whether or not we think we can work together. Some of the time is taken up with practical considerations, how often we meet, how much will it cost. I will cover things like confidentiality, what happens if you miss a session, when to take breaks, and how to prepare for endings. Does my availability match your availability and so on.
