About me and my therapy practice

Based on the edge of East Leake village, Sth Nottingham. I offer 1:2:1 person-centred/solution focused counselling. I am an accredited therapist with over 10 years experienced and I am registered with BUPA. 

I qualified in 2010 and have experience of working in both private and voluntary sectors before opening my private practice.

I have a BA(Hons) Degree in Counselling and my work experience includes working in: Social Services 11 years, Domestic Violence IWA 10 years and Palliative Care 4 years with my last role managing a busy counselling team of staff and training counsellors whilst providing emotional support to patients and their families with end of life and into bereavement.  In addition to this I support and mentor student counsellors.

My private practice offers a safe space to explore and work through issues that may have become overwhelming to manage, at a pace that suits you.

I work with a variety of private and professional referrals including organisations: MET Police and Victim Support and Employment Assistance Programmes. I work Full Time Monday - Friday.

Stress, life changes, bereavement, divorce, addictions, trauma, family/relationship and work place difficulties can all contribute to low moods, increased anxiety, and loss of energy, focus and motivation. I am dementia aware and trained.

Situated on the edge of East Leake Village, South Nottingham, in a tranquil setting. My therapy studio is used solely for the purpose of therapies and counselling. it overlooks the rear of the house enabling clients to feel relaxed and able to talk openly.

My first session

Sessions can seem daunting so my aim is to put clients at east with a warm welcome, introduce myself and explain about the counselling I offer with regards to confidentiality and boundaries etc and answer any questions you may have about the counselling process. 

From this point I am led by each client where we go from here.
