About me and my therapy practice

As a Person Centred counsellor I offer a confidential counselling service that is empathetic, non-judgmental and tailored to each client’s need. This gives my clients the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and explore possible ways forward for personal growth and future emotional health.

There are many situations in life when we might need some support. It maybe that we are facing challenges that we feel overwhelmed by or issues that we have not been able to resolve alone. Sometimes we value having support to explore finding a new direction in life and with a counsellor’s help it is possible to gain positive change in our lives.

My background includes a long teaching career and my personal experience as a carer of vulnerable family members has given me an appreciation of the pressures experienced by families in these situations. I have also worked for Merseycare as a group facilitator, helping clients to manage the challenges of life and also as a counsellor in a pregnancy crisis centre.

I have extensive experience of supporting people of all ages through difficulties, including relationship breakdown, low self esteem, bereavement, the challenges of living with physical and mental illness, workplace issues, depression and anxiety.

I have trained in bereavement, grief and loss and currently also counsel at a bereavement service in Liverpool. I have a particular interest in helping people to transition through the different seasons of life, from adolescence right through to retirement years.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, working according to their Ethical Framework for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I am fully insured and receive regular supervision to ensure good practice.
