About me and my therapy practice
I work face to face with my clients in an integrative manner using a variety of techniques including Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. (CBT) I specialise in working with people suffering from anxiety and depression. Talking to me will enable you to explore your difficulties in a meaningful, supportive, and professional manner. You will also feel that you have been heard and really understood in a non-judgmental manner.
You may be unsure why you feel so troubled in the first place. Working together will enable you to identify why you feel the way you do and comprehend the reasoning behind those feelings. Working at your pace to enable you to recognise those painful thoughts, feelings and emotions which may be holding you back. My support will enable you to have a greater understanding of your current issues and help you to locate inner-strength. Thus increasing your resilience and self-esteem to be able to face your problems with a greater level of self-confidence. Ultimately empowering you to move forward with your life in a happier, healthier, and more contented manner.
My experience of working with people experiencing anxiety and depression means that I understand that you may feel helpless or hopeless. I can help you identify where your issues lie enabling you to gain the strength you need to move forward at your own pace.
Another of my areas of strength is working with clients who have suffered a bereavement helping them to understand their own grieving process and why they feel the way they do.
I have sound experience in many other areas including family issues, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, dependent personality disorder, and chronic illness. Discussing these issues with me will enable you to understand yourself better and increase your self-esteem. Ultimately you will have the strength and commitment to overcome your adversity.

You can e-mail or call me (Please leave a message and I will ring you back) anytime to a arrange an initial free telephone consultation. I will ask you a little about what is troubling you and what you would like to gain from your counselling sessions. If you are happy to proceed you can book sessions at times to suit you.
In your first session you can begin by talking about the issues which are troubling you. You may have one issue or many. You can prioritise which issue you need to deal with first. I will listen to you and paraphrase back what you have said so that you know you are being listened to.
