About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and experienced supervisor and have been supporting counsellors in supervision since 2006.

I am experienced in working with counsellors from many different orientations; Person Centred, Eclectic, Integrative, Psychodynamic, working within their chosen therapy.

I work with students in placements, volunteers in Not For Profit organisations and counsellors in private practice and/or working for EAP's.

I can do 1 hour (£35) or 1 1/2 hour sessions (£40)

Practice description

Testimonials;

Supervision with Lynda is a lovely process of discovery and understanding, both about yourself and your clients.

She encourages free exploration of issues, often combining this with learning about relevant techniques and theories, which will help you to get the most out of every session with your client.

With her calm and friendly demeanour, Lynda enables the exploration of the issues underneath your client’s presenting behaviours, which can lead to better understanding for yourself and your client, and ultimately help them to understand and overcome their problems quicker.

Apart from it being a mandatory requirement every month, supervision with Lynda is also a pleasure, and an investment into your own well-being and future practice.

Can not recommend highly enough." Testimonial approved for inclusion from E.J

“I always look forward to my supervision sessions with Lynda. I know that if I am struggling with a client she will be able to bring a fresh and helpful perspective. She has a huge breadth of knowledge and experience which, together with her empathy and warm sense of humour, means she is always able to enhance my work, challenge me when needed and leave me feeling supported and safe.” Testimonial approved for inclusion from M.P

About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with anxiety, stress, or depression?

Are you finding this extended lockdown is beginning to break down your resilience and your coping strategies?

Are you dealing with too much; home schooling, financial insecurity, work, family issues, and finding it affecting your physical health?

It's difficult to use our usual ways of coping at the moment, like exercise, or a social life or even hugs from family and friends, so having someone impartial and empathic to talk to can really help. It can be hard to talk to family; it feels like whinging when everyone is in the same situation, and you don't want to burden them.

Counselling can really help. Together we can talk about all the issues you are struggling with in depth and make plans as to how best to deal with them. We can develop coping strategies and look at self care and self compassion.

I have lots of techniques to teach you, to find the one or two that really work for you.

Practice description

I am an accredited therapist with 17 years knowledge and experience working with people with a wide variety of issues. I specialise in anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression, trauma and dissociation.

Usually short term work is 6 weekly sessions or less.

During our work together I incorporate mindfulness, emotional freedom technique, CBT and other therapies, whilst embodying person centred principles.

I also work with long term clients with chronic conditions such as clinical depression or dissociation identity disorders.

My first session

Our first session will be discussing your problems in depth and looking at where and who you are, and where and who you want to be. Counselling is about change, and the only things you can change are your feelings, your thoughts and your behaviour. We will work together to identify what you want to change and how to do this.

During lockdown I use internet platforms like ZOOM or telephone counselling. As soon as lockdown ends I have a counselling room in Llandegfan which has been set up for social distancing and is intensely cleaned between clients.
