My Work

Sometimes we can struggle with difficult emotions, painful experiences or a sense of not being good enough. Trying to understand these feelings alone can be hard. Society tells us we 'should' be able to cope.

You may be looking for someone to support your child. Often young people decline counselling from school for fear of their peers finding out.

I provide a safe space for teenagers to talk about any issues they wish to bring.

Together, lets explore what's going on  & help you understand & process these emotions. We can talk about how your feelings, thoughts & behaviour all interact and I can support you in finding ways to change some of these and move forward.

Often after the first session many people have a sense of relief, a feeling that they've shared something important. I understand being able to talk openly with a counsellor about highly emotional areas of your life takes much courage and bravery.

For me, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is paramount for successful, meaningful and effective therapy. The heart of my work is for my clients to be heard, understood & valued.

Practice description

My therapy room is private and quiet with ample parking.

It is located in Little Chalfont near Amersham. It is a 10 min walk from Chalfont and Latimer tube station.

I am located within a doctors surgery with a discreet side entrance.

My first session

The first session is a chance for you to meet me, for me to understand what has brought you to counselling.

We can explore what you want to achieve from counselling and how we can work together

You may feel that there might be a different and more appropriate therapy available and I will offer my professional advice on a referral.

However, if we feel I am the right counsellor for you,  we will discuss the therapeutic contract. This will include  for example how often we will meet, my fee and cancellation policy.

This is helpful so you can refer to the working agreement at any point during your  therapy to refresh your memory as to what we agreed.

I understand you may have a huge mix of emotions around your first session. This is normal.

I work with my clients in many different ways.

You can ask me anything you want to know about my qualifications and experience and anything at all you don't understand.

It is vitally important I am the right counsellor for you.
