About me and my therapy practice
With adherence to government guidelines regarding Covid 19, I am now offering 8 face to face sessions and 5 remote sessions between Monday and Thursday.
Hi, my name is Rachel and I offer a down to earth, confidential space where you can speak with ease, whatever your difficulty might be.
I believe the key to successful counselling is the relationship between therapist and client, therefore I offer an initial, free 30 minute session to everyone so you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
I work from a Humanistic perspective where emphasis is placed on the uniqueness and respect of the individual, and therapist and client can work together, exploring present difficulties or past issues. Counselling requires the client to engage and be active in the process as it is the client who is the expert on themselves, not the therapist. The journey can often seem challenging but as the therapist, I am with the you every step of the way.
I will offer you the space to creatively explore your own potential and develop a deeper understanding of who you are, while encouraging growth and self awareness in a supportive environment. Whatever difficulties presented, I believe that either time limited or long term counselling can be an opportunity to get to know oneself better and explore the potential for positive change without judgement on the way.
The initial 30 minute consultation is free.
Appointments are charged at £45 per individual
I offer an upfront price of £250 for a block of 6 sessions.
I also offer a limited number of reduced cost appointments for counselling students and a sliding scale for those who need it. If this is something you are financially in need of then please bring it to my attention at assessment and we can discuss it from there.
My first session
The first session is a free 30 minute free consultation; this is a chance for us to meet and for you to see if I am the right fit for you as a counsellor, and for me to decide if I can offer you something useful.
I will take some information as to what brings you to counselling now; and take a brief history and talk a little about my approach of counselling and what you can expect if you choose to work with me.
There is no obligation to book a session from here. I will give you a contract to look over in your own time and if this feels right for you and you want to proceed then you can contact me and I will book you in at the earliest convenience to us both.
