About me and my therapy practice

I’m interested in you and how you landed here, what happened or is happening to you and how this makes you feel about yourself.

My hope is that you will find in me, someone who listens with compassion, speaks with honesty and values you without judgement.

My initial training was in a humanistic approach which is based on the principal that we all have unique way of viewing the world based on our personal experiences. It's these experiences which influence how we feel internally and how we behave externally. Emotions are not illnesses and we each communicate distress in different ways.

“In my view, the work of every professional whatever their training should be based on this principal: that however unusual, confusing, overwhelming or frightening someone’s thoughts, feelings and behaviours are, there is always a way of making sense of them.” Lucy Johnstone

So, if you feel ready to enter a brave space, to feel heard and understood. I’d like to help.

Practice description

My therapy rooms are in the centre of town with good parking and transport links nearby. Regrettably there is no wheelchair access.

My first session

A complimentary, (30 minute) introductory meeting in person helps you decide if working together feels like a good fit for you.

While this isn't a counselling session, I'd like to understand broadly your reason/reasons for considering counselling at this time, any past counselling experience as well as what you hope to gain from the process.
