About me and my therapy practice
Just a note to say that during the Covid-19 pandemic I will only be available for online or telephone sessions. I will be resuming face to face and walk and talk sessions once it is safe to do so.
My name is Vanessa. I am trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor, but also work with creative techniques such as guided visualisation and mindfulness when appropriate. My main concern is to provide a safe space where we can work together to begin to explore and understand and resolve the issues which have brought you to therapy.
Some of my key areas of experience are working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-harm, eating disorders, gender and identity, neurodiversity (e.g. ADHD or Autistic Spectrum presentations) relationship problems, domestic abuse, chronic shame and PTSD and trauma, especially relating to issues from childhood.
I can also offer walk and talk therapy, sometimes known as ecotherapy, taking therapy outdoors to immerse ourselves in the healing effects of nature to improve wellbeing. I am a qualified forest school leader with outdoor first aid qualifications. I am fully DBS checked.
I work from several locations around Brighton and Hove, depending on what's suitable for you. My initial session is £25 and then £45 thereafter.
