About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ann and I’m a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and registered member of BACP. If you’re having a tough time, and perhaps the COVID19 lockdown feels like the last straw, counselling can help. Together we can make sense of what you’re feeling and find a positive way forward.
I have a particular interest in understanding how past events and relationships have shaped you into the person you are today. Exploring this and identifying what changes you want to make can lead to better relationships, greater happiness and the peace which comes from self-acceptance.
I have experience of delivering both long-term and short term therapy to a wide range of clients. I have done extensive work with NHS IAPT clients who were struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and loss.
My first session
For the duration of the Covid19 outbreak I am offering counselling by telephone or video-call (such as Zoom or Skype) only. First contact is a free, brief telephone discussion about what prompted you to seek counselling and to arrange a time and day for an initial assessment. The initial assessment is an opportunity to explore in more depth what brought you to counselling, for you to ask me any questions, and for us to get to know each other a little. If we both feel that we can work well together, the next step is to agree length of counselling and set the time and day of our regular, 50 minute sessions.
