About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ann and I’m a qualified, accredited psychodynamic counsellor and registered member of BACP. If you’re having a tough time just now, counselling can help. Together we can make sense of what you’re feeling and find a positive way forward.
I have a particular interest in understanding how past events and relationships have shaped you into the person you are today. Exploring this and identifying what changes you want to make can lead to better relationships, greater happiness and the peace which comes from self-acceptance.
I have experience of delivering both long-term and short term therapy to a wide range of clients, including extensive work with NHS IAPT clients struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and loss.
My first session
I offer counselling by telephone or Zoom (£40) or face-to-face (£50). First contact is a free telephone conversation to discuss why you're considering counselling and to arrange a time and day for an assessment. The assessment is an opportunity to explore in more depth what's troubling you, for you to ask any questions you have and for us to get to know each other. If we both feel that we can work well together, the next step is to agree length of counselling contract and set the time and day of our regular, 50 minute sessions.
