About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist that holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy: Humanistic and Integrative approaches.
I believe myself to have a warm, calming and empathic approach. I work with adults, older adults and trainees, who are aged 18 and over. I work on a weekly basis that really allows for the complete benefits of therapy to work. I provide a safe, confidential, non judgemental and a warming service.
Initially, I offer a brief phone call to have a little chat, help you feel comfortable and prepare for the next therapeutic steps, embarking on a working relationship. We can then arrange an initial assessment where we can discuss further into what you intend to bring to therapy and a little of your background.
I really believe that therapy is an incredibly beneficial self investment that gives you new perspectives and directions. This gives you opportunities to open up to new goals and to be able to understand yourself.
I am also particularly interested in how the challenges or difficulties we may face as an adult may stem from childhood and our learned behaviour from significant role models. This process unravels in different ways as we grow, developing into the personality, characteristics that we display today. I enjoy working phenomenologically, which focuses on how the body is affected in a somatic way. I have experience in working with trauma, childhood issues, anxiety, sexual abuse, stress, depression, shame, narcissism, relationships, lack of self confidence and esteem. My sessions are 50 minutes long and £45 for the session. If you have any questions, then please ask.
My first session
The first session can be a nerve wracking feeling. I want to make you feel as comfortable as possible. In a warm, safe and confidential space.
The first meeting will be a session to get to know each other, talk about your goals for therapy and your difficulties or issues that have brought you to therapy. I will also explain a little bit about how I work and from there we can see if it is the right fit for you.
