About me and my therapy practice

You may not have been diagnosed with anxiety or depression but you know you are not yourself. You may be feeling sad, tired, nervous, scared, alone, misunderstood, wrong, bad and you don't want to keep feeling like this, something has got to change.

You may be having trouble sleeping, you may have noticed your eating habits have changed, you may be drinking more or taking drugs, you may have cut back on socialising. Your thoughts may be getting louder or busier and more intrusive.

Your stomach may be churning more, your heart may feel like it is about to jump out of your chest, you may be finding it difficult to concentrate.

You may be feeling emotions you would rather not be feeling like fear, sadness, isolation, loneliness or misunderstood; or you may be so used to feeling them you cannot see an alternative.

I work with adults who exerience anxiety around loss which can include: Loss of childhood, a loved on, an abuse, a home, of innocence, of a job, of independence, a relationship, of self-worth/self-belief/self-esteem, of safety, of connection, of the life you thought you would have but didn't

What would it be like to understand your anxiety? To quieten those intrusive thoughts, to understand and build a positive relationship with your feelings and reduce the physical response to them? What would it be like to know the root cause of your anxiety? To reduce its power so you can live your life with it rather than be governed by it.

By working together, we will develop a relationship that will allow us to safely explore what is going on for you now and how your past relationships and/or experiences may be impacting your present. We will look at reconnecting your mind with your feelings and your physical response to those feelings so you can become a more wholesome you.

Practice description

I can offer two ways of working.

We can meet in The Garden Room, a calm and relaxing space surrounded by the tranquil sound of water and the power of nature. The natural setting allows our defences to decrease which can be empowering for you and our relationship.

We can also meet for a walk and talk. Being outdoors with nature is naturally relaxing and the excericise increases our feel good hormones allowing for a deeper working environment. These sessions are only available during the hours of 9am-3.30pm.

My first session

Our first session will take place in The Garden Room and is an introduction to each other, to discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to get out of it and how we can work together to achieve that goal. If we are happy to work together, then we book your regular time slot. The first session is at the reduced rate of £30.
