About me and my therapy practice

My aim is to offer you acceptance, care, trust & a non-judgemental attitude. Together, we can explore your issues and work towards what is important for you.

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I use Person Centred, Psychodynamic, & Cognitive (CBT) approaches.

- I work with adult individuals
- I offer 6 sessions initially (further sessions will be discussed)
- I work during term-times only
- £40 per 50 min session (£30 for students/low wage/unwaged)

I see clients in a quiet, comfortable room, working from Peel Psychological Consultancy premises on Gosforth High Street which also has a spacious waiting room.

The first session is for assessment. I want you to feel free to ask any questions about counselling or raise any concerns. You can express whatever issues are troubling you & decide if we can work together. I’m happy to answer any questions you have by e-mail or over the telephone, if you are unsure whether to make an appointment.

To support you, I will draw on my 15 years’ experience with issues of anxiety/GAD, depression, panic disorder, abuse, addictions, bereavement, anger management, attachment disorder, low self-esteem, emotional abuse, low self-confidence and relationship issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with MA, MEd and BEd (Hons) qualifications.

I have also attended courses on eating disorders, self-harming, Transactional Analysis (TA), sleep, mindfulness, psychopathology and narcissism.

I found my experience during an 8-week Mindfulness course quite profound & decided to incorporate it into my practice whenever it could be helpful for you. Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment & non-judgementally. I’m a passionate believer in the close connection between mind & body. I’ve practised yoga for over 15 years & may suggest yoga / mindfulness can help clients to cope with their issues.

I use my experience from working with Sutton Counselling &  Psychotherapy, GP surgeries, Re-think, Croydon carers, Wimbledon Guild, Wandsworth/Brixton prisons & in my private practice in SW London.
