About me and my therapy practice

Finding a counsellor that fits can be daunting. Thoughts that cross your mind may be "Will they understand me?" or "Can I relate to them?". It's my aim to offer you an open, warm and judgement free space to feel like you are able to open up and explore your inner world. I will facilitate your greater awareness of self - your body, your feelings and help you gain an understanding of why you act the way you do. I have been trained in intercultural therapy which is a form of dynamic psychotherapy which takes into account the whole being of a person not only the individual concepts and constructs which are presented to me. 

Practice description

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where I can help you gain insight into the less conscious aspects of your thinking, behaviour and feelings. I am passionate about joining you on your journey into self discovery but understanding self is just one part of the process, I will help you process any unresolved feelings which may be impacting your state of being in the present. 

My first session

In the first session I want to know a little about your story. I would like to gain an understanding of how your experiences might have shaped you and how you are feeling in the here and now. This is where the warm environment is fostered, and you begin to feel like you are being heard. We will talk a little bit about what it is your want from me as a therapist and discuss different areas of your life which might need some further exploration. The first session is really what you want to make of it. Some clients may want to unload and some might want to share smaller bits piece by piece. How much you share is totally up to you. My only aim to take on board what it is you are sharing in a way that makes you feel like you feel listened to.
