About me and my therapy practice
Hello. I’m Jenny Hudson and I’m a counsellor working in private practice. I offer counselling and psychotherapy services that are delivered either face to face in Stockport, or remotely by telephone or by Zoom.
I work with adults across all age ranges, up to and beyond retirement. I also work with couples. I am committed to offering a service that is welcoming to all backgrounds in a supportive and non-discriminatory manner.
People come to me for a number of reasons. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression or grief, or they may be feeling sad or stuck and can’t seem to move forward. They may be experiencing difficulties in their relationships or are struggling at work. Sometimes their reasons are not always clearly defined. They may have a sense of not being where they thought they would be at this point in life, and have a general sense of unease or dissatisfaction.
Whatever your reason, you are certainly not alone, and therapy can help you to work through whatever it is you're experiencing.
For me, therapy is about hope. It’s about having a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and eventually arriving at a place where you feel empowered to make changes and to grow. This is what I offer.
The main modalities that I work in are Transactional Analysis (TA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My first session
Reaching out can be difficult. If it's easier to drop me a note, feel free to text or email in the first instance. Whatever works best for you. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation (for individuals only) which allows us both to ask questions. You can talk to me about what you would like help with. I will gather some brief information and will talk to you about how I work. You can then decide if what I offer is appropriate for you. I offer flexible appointments, including evenings and weekends.
