About me and my therapy practice
LIVE THE LIFE THAT MATTERS TO YOU. I am an experienced counsellor and ACT therapist who has helped people with a range of problems: anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, eating problems, addictions, and people living with illness. The aim of my approach is to help you live more fully according to what matters to you most. This approach is based on ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which is a mindfulness based behavioural therapy.
I will ask about what matters to you most in your life and what difficulties you experience that stop you living the life you would like. I will seek to help you live more in line with what matters and I will help you to understand what is stopping you. I teach mindfulness based skills that help you to stand back from unhelpful thoughts so they have less impact on you, and you can also learn how to be more open to your feelings instead of struggling with them.
I realise it is not easy to start therapy, and to find the right therapist for you. I am happy to speak to you on the phone if this would help you to clarify what might be needed in your situation and if working with me might help you.

About me and my therapy practice
Originally I was a psychiatric nurse, mainly specialising in addictions and eating disorders. My counselling training was integrative humanistic. I have had indepth training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is now my main mode of therpay, while also drawing on my humanistic training. My supervision style is to develop a safe space where you feel able to share openly about your practice, and to facilitate you to reflect and develop as a practitioner. I have most to offer ACT and mindfulness practitioners. What I can help with
