About me and my therapy practice

I work with individuals, couples and young people offering counselling and psychotherapy in Leeds City Centre and Morley and work with a broad range of issues, using an approach which recognises that, as we are all individuals, each of us needs an individualised therapy. One size does not fit all as far as counselling and psychotherapy are concerned; certain therapeutic approaches suit some people more than others, and some techniques are appropriate for some difficulties, but not all.

In this way, I work in a way which integrates elements from a number of therapeutic traditions in order to develop an approach which suits individual clients and their particular difficulties. I aim to provide a proper balance between support and challenge for each person or couple, working with thoughts, feelings and behaviours, as each and all are likely to affect one's sense of well-being or have an impact on our relationships.

Whilst I generally offer "talking therapy", at times I might use creative or mindfulness techniques within my work if these are appropriate and clients are comfortable with working in these ways. I also offer the "Rewind Technique" for those who have experienced trauma or who have phobic responses. I am able to offer short term solution-focused therapy and longer term therapy working at depth to address longer-term difficulties and unhelpful behavioural or relational patterns. Standard fees are £65 for couples and £45 for individuals. Concessions are available.

The first session is concerned with discussing your current difficulties and priorities for the forthcoming work, as well as sharing information about your history, particularly in relation to significant relationships. The session also gives you the opportunity to ask about how I work.
