About me and my therapy practice

My pronouns are she/her and I aim to provide a fully inclusive service for everyone. I am working online as well as in-person.

Each of us has experienced pain and emotional distress simply through being human. We have all developed coping mechanisms in order to help us survive. And we have experienced a failure of those mechanisms when things around us change and we don't know how to manage anymore.

This might be set off by a single event, a string of occurrences, an inner world overwhelmed by changes in the environment, a change that we have instigated in order to build a life more aligned with who we know ourselves to really be, or the stress of holding onto traumatic life events for too long without support. It can appear suddenly or be the result of many instances building up to the unbearable.

We can feel depression, anxiety, fear, anger, shame, stuckness, panic, a deep grieving, a sense of not being able to cope very well... all the reasons you may be reaching out for some help right now.

I offer a warm, empathic and compassionate space where you can share your experiences and explore what's happening for you in a way you may not be able to do within your current life and relationships.

Connecting your past with your present, working through long held emotional blockages, developing new ways of relating and managing situations you currently struggle with; we will work with what is emerging for you in the moment, drawing on techniques and teachings from many different psychotherapeutic styles.

Practice description

I am working online as well as in-person depending on your needs during this very difficult time.

In-person sessions are held in the OTS Therapy Centre in Oxford, Temple Cowley;  and from a private practice space in Cuddington, near Thame/Haddenham/Aylesbury

Each location has non-gendered bathrooms with room to change in and on street parking. Neither have waiting rooms available at the moment.

I work within the ethical framework of BACP, including full confidentiality agreement.

My training integrates concepts from transpersonal, humanistic, Jungian, Gestalt, relational, psychodynamic, neuroscience, body psychotherapy and family systems theory as well as developmental, archetypal and eco psychology.

My first session

I offer an initial half hour phone/online meeting. This is in order to gather a brief understanding of what has brought you to therapy, what you'd like support with and for you to ask any questions about the way I practice.

If you decide you'd like to work with me, we will set up an initial 50minute session where we can go into what you'd like to work through in more depth and discuss some of the more practical arrangements. We'll outline a basic agreement for things like confidentiality, cancellations, payment etc. and talk through number of sessions and times/days that are convenient for you to have appointments.

In general I'd work with you to find a regular time and day to meet on a weekly basis, however I am aware that you may need more flexibility, depending on your lifestyle particularly in the current CoVid situation. All appointments last for 50minutes.
