About me and my therapy practice

I offer support and help in a way that is client-centred. I understand that, as human beings, we are all different, and I will always try to find a way of working that best suits the needs of an individual client.  I will listen -  allowing you to express your thoughts, feelings, experiences and emotions in a relaxed, non-judgemental, empathic and confidential space. For many people this can provide the opportunity to explore and open their eyes more fully to their own world. Through this they can gain a better and deeper understanding of issues that might be underlying any struggles or difficulties. Counselling is very much about listening, and supporting people to identify any changes they might wish to make in their lives, and to find their own best ways of moving forwards.  I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of BACP.

Practice description

There’s a multitude of reasons why someone might seek the support of a counsellor, and many people benefit from engaging with talking therapy. Life can throw up challenges quite unexpectedly in the here and now, or sometimes our past experiences cause us difficulty. These situations or events might cause emotional distress or struggles within our daily lives. If this resonates with your personal situation, then talking to, and being listened to, by a professional in a confidential, non-judgemental, safe and supportive environment may help you. Contacting a counsellor can be a courageous first step towards creating the changes in life that are right for you. Finding a person, that you feel you can comfortably talk to and share your personal thoughts, feelings, emotions or experiences with is a really important part of that process.

My first session

I am happy to offer a no-obligation initial telephone consultation to give clients an opportunity to outline their reason for seeking support, and to decide whether they would like to work with me. From there we book a first counselling session. During the first session some of the time will be spent discussing and agreeing our way of working together. Thereafter, session time is entirely for clients to focus on what they would like to talk about and I will support in exploring whatever issues are brought to the sessions.
