About me and my therapy practice
What can you expect from me? I am easy to talk to, non-judgmental, respectful and really maintain the focus of the work on helping you understand yourself better. This is the only way change happens. And when it does, you will be able to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
A crucial part of the work is our relationship. Making you feel comfortable and able to talk to me, is my first priority. This will help us work together towards our agreed goals. I say 'us' and 'our' because, although you are the focus of therapy, I will be with you every step of the way.
I come from an Integrative background, which simply means that I don't have a pre-conceived idea about where problems come from. We are all different and our experiences are all very unique to us, so there is no one correct way of doing things. You and I would talk together and soon come to an understanding of where your predicament may lie; what might be 'under the bonnet'. We will then begin to think about things in way that allows you to challenge some of your limiting thoughts and behaviours. You will be surprised how soon you will begin to think and feel differently; more positively. You will have a healthier relationship with your emotions.
My first session
I offer a 30-minute free consultation. This session will give you an opportunity to get to know a little bit about the way I work, and also allow me to understand a little about what brings you to therapy. You can also ask me any questions you may have about me, the process of therapy, or any other question you may have.
At the end of that first session, you can then decide if and how you would like to move forward with therapy.
