About me and my therapy practice
I believe that mutually satisfying relationships with others are necessary for our emotional wellbeing. I offer an integrative relational approach to counselling by drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs. I aim to work with you in a way (and at a pace) that is right for you. My approach also takes account of social factors (such as gender, culture, race and class) and how these impact on our lives.
We all have times in our lives where we find it difficult to cope with our thoughts, feelings and emotions for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you have concerns about family or intimate relationships; care responsibilities; new life situations; bereavement/loss; college/university; work issues or low levels of confidence and self-esteem. When this happens it can be helpful to speak to someone to try and make sense of it all.
I offer short or longer-term therapy in a confidential space where you can explore where you are now and how you can start working towards the healthier future that you want. Through my approach I aim to provide a warm, empathic, understanding, non-judgemental and appropriately challenging therapeutic relationship.
The therapeutic process is about change so if you are reading this then you may have decided that you are ready to invest in yourself and start moving forwards in a way that works for you.
My Relevant qualifications include:
• MA Integrative Counselling
• Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
• BSC (Hons) Psychology
• Qualified trainer - First Aid for Mental Health
As a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work to their Code of Ethics.
