About me and my therapy practice
I would like to begin by introducing myself, my name is Jean and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, based in Biggleswade Bedfordshire.
Person-centred counselling, is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which individuals perceive themselves, consciously, rather than how a counsellor interprets their unconscious thoughts or ideas.
Are you looking for a space to talk, or some quiet reflection time for yourself? We can all benefit from a little me time now and then. On the other hand, are you feeling anxious, stressed, unhappy or just generally overwhelmed with life at present? Are you finding it difficult to make sense of things, and do not really know where to start? Well read on because this could be the first step you are looking for. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially to a complete stranger, so to make this a little bit easier, I would like to explain how I work.
Practice description
As a Person-centred counsellor I offer a non-judgmental and gentle approach where we can work together to make sense of any difficult thoughts or feelings you may be experiencing. By working in an open-ended way, we can explore your experiences together in a safe space. Talking through your concerns with me at your pace will empower you to gain a better understanding of yourself and move you towards a more positive and settled sense of wellbeingMy first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial meeting online via Zoom or a phone call, which will enable us to discuss how I work and what you feel you may want or need from counselling. This also gives an opportunity for us to discuss whether I may be the right counsellor for you. You can then choose whether you wish to book a session, or whether you wish to think about it further. Booking and attending an initial meeting does not commit you to booking further sessions with me.
I offer 50-minute counselling sessions, which are usually held on a weekly basis, Our work can be open-ended, short-term or long-term work and I will discuss your requirements and expectations at our initial meeting in order for you to decide what you may want or need from counselling.
I offer both online sessions via Zoom and face-to-face sessions. My counselling room is located in Biggleswade Bedfordshire.
I am a registered member of the BACP and work within their ethical code of practice.
