About me and my therapy practice
I offer both individual and group therapy. Therapy offers a safe and containing space to pause, explore difficulties and issues, gain insights and discover new ways to move forward in life.
I am a senior accredited BACP therapist with many years experience in NHS, third sector and private practice. My original counselling training employed an integrative approach and subsequently I trained as a group analytic psychotherapist. Evidence suggests, however, that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is what matters, rather than the 'brand' of therapy used (of which there are hundreds!).
I work during the day with one evening per week for individual therapy.
The group meets from 7.15 - 8.45 pm on Monday evenings.
1997: Diploma in Psychological Counselling (Roehampton Institute, now University of Roehampton)
2007: Qualifying Training in Group Analysis (Institute of Group Analysis, London)
2011: Diploma in Supervision (Institute of Group Analysis, London)
I meet my clients and hold the group at the St Bedes Pastoral Centre, very close to the station in York. It is a comfortable, secure venue with a receptionist and waiting room.
I also offer clinical supervision both to students and to experienced practitioners from my consulting room at home.
Please contact me for an initial (free of charge) telephone consultation.
