About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I integrate Relational Transactional Analysis with EMDR, CBT, and Neuroscience to meet various client presentations. I work holistically both with body and mind to connect. What this means for me is that I explore to discover the unconscious processes that are driving our current responses and behaviours. During this process, we will recognise your survival mechanism, independence and agency. Once the underlying processes are identified, we can develop new healthy ways of reacting to stressful events.
People come to therapy for different reasons. For some people, it can be an unexpected life event, relationship issues, or childhood trauma, and others might be having difficulties in life. They may want a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic space to explore their options.
Whatever the difficulties you bring to therapy, I believe we can work relationally to decide your options in your unique situation so you live a more fulfilling life.
I believe that every individual deserves to be treated respectfully, non-judgementally, worthy of being loved and cared for, and has the autonomy to make their own healthy choices —whatever an individual's background and the problems they bring to therapy. This view supports my work as a therapist and how I approach my clients; ensuring the therapeutic space is accepting, safe and confidentially is my utmost priority.
My first session
I offer potential clients a free 20-minute phone consultation so we can both understand whether we connect to work together. Explore about you and present issues and your expectations from therapy. Additionally, answering your questions about starting therapy and the process.
I feel it's essential to have a conversation before committing to the therapy process. The initial consultation is an opportunity to identify how we can work relationally and explore your expectations and desired outcome from therapy sessions.
I am aware that finding the right therapist and the relationship that you build with your therapist is one of the key factors to the success of the therapy process.
