About me and my therapy practice

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC registered); Jungian Analyst in training; wide experience over 20 years in private practice and NHS Secondary Care; consulting room in Horsham in a quiet location on the edge of St Leonard's Forest; secure and confidential setting in which to talk about whatever issues may be troubling you - whether that is anxiety, depression, repeating patterns of behaviour, problems in relationships, loss, long term emotional difficulties, or a lack of fulfilment or sense of meaning in life.

I recognise that the difficulties which bring people into therapy are often the tip of the iceberg with deeper underlying causes requiring exploration and understanding in the context of a secure and confidential therapeutic relationship.

I offer sessions at a frequency of once to five times weekly.

I have a longstanding interest in the work and ideas of Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Carl Jung. Jung's unique contribution and way of working could perhaps be summed up by saying that he had a profound respect for the individual and the wisdom buried in the individual's own psyche. He saw it as the therapist's role to help the person towards deeper self awareness and living a more authentic life. He thought that the difficulties which bring people into therapy were often due to conflicts between different parts of the individual's personality and that whilst these difficulties could be extremely painful and challenging, they could also be creative and lead to personal growth.

I am now in the final stages of a post qualification training in Jungian analysis for experienced psychotherapists with the Association of Jungian analysts (AJA).

The initial consultation takes place over two separate sessions and my fee for this is £65 per session.

About me and my therapy practice

I am currently able offer individual/group supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists in the Sussex area at low cost (£40 individual sessions)..

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over 20 years' wide clinical experience. I am registered with BPC and FPC and have been accredited with BACP since 20004. I have a particular and longstanding interest in the ideas of Carl Jung and I am now in the final stages of a post qualification training as a Jungian Analyst with the Association of Jungian Analysts.

I am also enrolled on an innovative and in-depth supervision training with the Guild of Psychotherapists in London. Participants must be qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapists. Completion of this pluralist training will equip me to apply for membership of the British Association of Psychodynamic & Psychoanalytic Supervisors. I will be having weekly supervision of supervision with an experienced and senior Jungian analyst/analytic psychotherapist.

I consider the relationship with my supervisor to be one of the most formative influences on my development as a therapist and a supervisor. For the last twenty years I have had once/twice weekly Jungian/analytic supervision with senior and experienced analysts (SAP or AJA).

I aim for a supervisory relationship which will facilitate a collaborative, reflective, open and creative exploration of the work.

I qualified initially in 1998 with the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I worked with Horsham Counselling Service  and in NHS Secondary care. I am keen to work with and support therapists at all stages of professional development and in whatever particular challenges might arise for them in the process.

I am open to discussion regarding frequency, longer sessions and group supervision.  If you would like to arrange an initial exploratory session (fee £40) then please give me a call.
