I manage my diary flexibly and this approach works well for me and my clients. Clients do not have to be seen at the same time each week or even on the same day if that doesn't work for them. Life isn't that structured for some although it is for others, so I am happy to find a way that works for both of our diaries.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred counsellor & supervisor and have been qualified since 2002.
I have recently given up the training side of my business after training counsellors for over 21 years. This is allowing me to balance the counselling, supervisory and mentoring side of my work along with some valuable family time. My next chapter...
My beliefs are that everyone deserves to be heard compassionately without fear of judgement or criticism and that is what I offer in my approach. I have many years of experience working with people and I continue to learn daily about the value of warmth and respect between people.
I am very down to earth and am happy to talk about absolutely anything, I'm not shy to talk about very personal issues and am very open-minded and accepting of others, no matter how different we may be!
I have a wealth of experience of working with adults in different capacities and have run my own counselling and training business successfully since 2008.
I'm based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham and am a senior accredited member of the BACP.
Practice description
I work in very comfortable, newly refurbished counselling rooms that we have recently moved into that are designed to be light, airy, comfortable and totally fit for purpose. I have 2 counselling rooms, one with chairs and the other with sofas.
My first session
During the first session we will go through a working agreement together so that we both have a clear understanding of the boundaries of our sessions and relationship.
You can ask any questions that you may have during this session too, don't be shy!
Payment can be made using cash or card at the end of your sessions and your next session can be planned into the diary at the same time should you wish to continue.

About me and my therapy practice
I qualified as a counselling supervisor in 2012 with a CPCAB Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision.
I am passionately Person-Centred so am well suited to working with Person-Centred therapists to support their work with clients.
I have very strong relationships with my current supervisees and believe that highly supportive supervision equates to highly functioning counsellors. I am also very curious and encourage supervisees to challenge themselves, learn , develop and grow.
I am also a senior accredited member of the BACP with a busy private practice.
