About me and my therapy practice

As a supervisor, I work within an Integrative Relational model based mainly on Humanistic and Psychodynamic theories and practice. I am a senior accredited supervisor with a diploma in group and individual clinical supervsion and have been a supervisor since 2009, working with trainee and qualified counsellors, coaches and medical professionals.

As a professional yourself, you will know how important it is to feel both supported and challenged in your supervision relationship. I aim to offer a collaborative space with the focus on the development of your own style of practice as well as your professional and personal growth. Together we will ensure that you are working ethically and in the best interest of your clients.

I believe an effective supervision relationship can increase the counsellor’s competence, confidence and creativity with present and future clients.

I provide supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors on a 1:1 or small group basis.

How can counselling help you?

Life is a series of transitions and these present us with challenges which sometimes we navigate with our existing resources and at other times are not able to. Counselling is helpful at these times as well as for ongoing personal development.

Counselling with a trained professional, can help you unravel what is distressing you and how it is affecting you. You can explore what is happening now, what has happened to you in the past and how these may link. These insights can help you see things from new perspectives from which, new ideas and choices emerge. It is a time to learn more about yourself, help you feel better now and to equip you for the future. A good counselling relationship is one that is able to provide a safe place to explore, learn and heal.

What about couples counselling?

Change and transition also affects couples. Counselling can be a safe place for you both to talk to each other in different ways. A trained couples counsellor can provide the prompts, questions, challenges and support to help you both understand more about how you got to the place you are, what has been happening, what is happening now and how to move forward.

How can I help you?

That will be one of the first things we’ll talk about. I am guided by you, what you tell me that is happening for you now, what concerns you and what changes you would like to see in your life.

I have many years post qualification experience as a counsellor, counselling trainer and supervisor. I have also worked as an HR professional, coach and mediator.

What next?

The first step is to arrange an appointment to see if counselling could be for you with no obligation to continue after the first session. I work on Mondays in Surbiton and Tuesdays in Kingston.
