About me and my therapy practice

Here at Self-Actualise Talking Therapy Service I provide a warm and inviting safe space to allow us to work together to achieve your goals with regards to your mental health and wellbeing.

Counselling is more about what you put into it, the more you’ll get from it. Being honest with yourself and opening up to your counsellor takes courage, but the benefits are so worth it and rewarding.

People do lots of things to help themselves feel better, retail therapy (buying clothes etc). Beauty therapy (haircut, nails, lashes etc), physical health (go the gym, running, cycling, sports etc).

These are all great things to help us feel better


Here’s a question to ask yourself?

Are some of the above things just giving you a short-term fix and masking your problems. Would dealing with your issues and being able to move on from them and leave them behind, learn from them and grow as a person not be a better solution.

My first session

The first session will be an initial assesment where we go over and sign the counselling contract together, complete a risk assessment survey and a feeling score questionnaire. This generally takes about 20 minutes to complete which would then leave the remainder of session for you to talk about whatever you want. All future sessions after the initial assessment, the whole session  will be your time to bring to counselling whatever you want to discuss.
