About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist who is experienced at working with adults, students and young people.
I can help you think about the ways you feel, think and act and help you to discover alternative ways of thinking and behaving to alleviate your difficulties. I tailor the way I work to suit your needs and use a psychodynamic approach. Psychodynamic counselling looks at the importance of the unconscious and past experience in shaping current behaviour. We would explore how your patterns of behaviour are influenced by the past – and help you see how your unconscious mind is influencing the way you live your life, as well as thinking about your relationship to yourself, and those around you.
I offer both short and long term work, depending on whether we decide your particular situation would be more suited to counselling or psychotherapy. Counselling and psychotherapy do not differ from each other a great deal but counselling tends to be time-limited and deals with a specific goal, while psychotherapy is longer term and explores issues in greater depth.
I am based in central Thame at The Practice, (OX9 2DW) there is free parking nearby.
I have worked for the NHS, in secondary schools and in Oxford University student counselling service.
