About me and my therapy practice
Experiencing anxiety, fear, stuck in a rut or feeling very low - accessing psychotherapy can help you work with and resolve difficult emotional issues that may be blocking how you want to live. You may be finding relationships hard going, repeating the same patterns, or finding it difficult to feel close to people.
I am an experienced psychotherapist working with a broad range of clients in the NHS and private practice. I offer counselling and psychotherapy both short-term and open-ended to individuals.During the Covid19 restrictions I offer sessions by phone. On return to working in person I will be working in South East London.
Talking to a professional allows you to share the things that may be troubling you in a confidential and non-judgemental space. Examining your inner world and exploring feelings and habits that have gone unrecognised can allow you to create positive shifts in mind and enable change. By looking at your life, both past and present, it’s possible to become aware of patterns and motivations that may have been hard to make sense of alone.
Speaking to a therapist is different to the kind of conversations possible with friends, family, even partners. Meeting weekly creates a reliable and safe space to explore what is happening for you.
If you would like to know more, email me to arrange an initial meeting.
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from WPF Therapy, accredited by Roehampton University. I have over 26 years experience working in the public sector in arts education, disability and mental health services includingthe NHS at SouthLondon & Maudsley Trust and in private practice.
My first session
For an initial consultation I suggest contacting me via email with times and days you have available. I will email you back offering a first meeting (currently a phone session) of an hour and a half, at £60. This allows enough time to explore how things are with you right now. Sometimes it may feel necessary to have two sessions before deciding whether to continue with therapy. Ongoing weekly sessions will be at the same time and day each week as decided in our initial session. Weekly therapy fees are between £60 to £95 depending on income.
