About me and my therapy practice
Choice is a fundamental ingredient to your wellbeing. Without it, you cannot fully enjoy your life, cannot truly be yourself and cannot appreciate your free will. When you worry, suffer from anxiety, engage in substance use or compulsive behaviour, relive a traumatic event over and over again, many of your choices go away as you have only one main focus and everything else in your life takes a back seat. You only see everything through one lens at this point and from the experience, I can tell that this very lens you rely on to make your everyday decisions needs either adjusting or replacing because somehow it does not do the job it was intended to do in the first place: to see clearly. Now, it is up to you what lens you pick, because it can only be your decision as you will have to live with it every day, but let me replace it for you as I believe that it requires a professional and then you will be free again to make fully informed choices.

I am a trained addiction counsellor and I offer online only addiction counselling. I also help families, friends and partners affected by someone else's addiction. Depending on what you feel most comfortable with, we can schedule sessions using either skype, google meet or telephone. I fluently speak English and Latvian which is my mother tongue hence my odd name so I can also help people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
On everyday basis I work in a primary school and teach children whose first language is not English and additionally I also work for a charity that provides respite care for parents/ carers of disabled children. For this reason, I have a very tailored approach to every client and focus on creating order from chaos.
My first session
I offer free initial 30 min session to see how counselling works and whether I am the right therapist for you. In the first session I tend to inquire about therapy goals, reasons for embarking on counselling journey and find out more about issues and underlying problems so that we can agree on a timeframe and a rough outline of our work together.
