About me and my therapy practice

I’m passionate about helping you make more of your life. I have a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy Practice. I counsel in Loughborough, Nottingham and online. My clients are equally men and women, cover many occupations and nationalities, and range in age from late teens/students to working, unemployed and retired adults. I’ve counselled at an NHS hospital, a charity, and in private practice.

Choosing a counsellor you trust and feel comfortable with can be tricky. For many of us feelings of trust and being respected don’t come easily. My style of counselling relies on a counsellor’s ability to offer a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, whatever issues clients bring up. I’m human, and as well as “qualifications” bring personal life experience to your sessions. I’m from Glastonbury, and have worked in the quarrying industry, as a solicitor and as a part-time university teacher to UK and international students. All my work has involved helping people and often fighting for or alongside them as they face or achieve change. I have wide experience of conflict between people, a black belt in aikido, and a doctorate in modern approaches to enlightenment. All of this fed my enthusiasm for counselling and helping people gain power, improve themselves and change their lives in ways best for them.

I provide person-centred counselling and psychotherapy in both time-limited (short-term) or open-ended (long-term) ways. This humanistic style of counselling doesn’t require clients come with a “diagnosis.” It can help people deal with numerous recognised medical conditions (including depression, anxiety, addictions) and also make more of their lives, friendships, relationships, careers.

I counsel through a professional multi-cultural partnership called Abbott & Yang. Please take a look at our website: https://www.abbottandyang.co.uk and get in touch.
