About me and my therapy practice

Im Jo, she/her/hers. I have been working as a counsellor and Clinical Supervisor for many years now.  Whatever the reason bringing you to my profile today, I hope you will find all you need to help you through a difficult time in your or a loved ones life. Many of us reach a time in our lives when we just don't think we can carry on, or feel so alone we don't know where else to turn. Its at the point many people find support in Counselling. Famously referred to as "The Talking Cure", talking to someone impartial and non-judgmental, who is skilled in listening, can help you work through historic or current issues, or help you make the changes within yourself that you've been struggling to achieve alone. With the help and support of a counsellor you can begin to understand how past experiences and current behaviour may be linked and help you to see things in a new way. The British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) state that "counselling offers clients a confidential secure space in which to confront, change or channel feelings of confusion, grief, rage or depression. The majority of counsellors do not advise or tell you what to do but help you find answers within yourself" Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss making an appointment.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an established and experienced Clinical Supervisor that enjoys working in a creative and Integrative approach.

I am happy to work with you in the way that best enables you to be the reflective practitioner that you are.  I am non-judgmental and friendly and enjoy a coffee together while we work.

Practice description

I have been a practicing therapist for over a decade and have learned so much along the way, but I am on my own journey of learning, and know that I still have so much to learn along the way.

My experience has been in Domestic Abuse, IAPT and Private Practice.

I really enjoy supervising others now, and being able to share some of my experiences, positive and negative - yup I've made my fair share of mess ups along the way, whilst still learning from my supervisees because we are all so different and work in different ways.

My first session

Our initial first meeting will be a time for us to get to know each other, and discuss what you feel you would like from me as your supervisor.   I encourage autonomy at all times.
